Perkins police were investigating a possible sexual assault early Saturday morning that happened near a cluster of RVs parked in a dark corner of the Sandusky Speedway property.

At about 12:20 a.m., dispatchers received a call about a woman who may have been sexually assaulted at the West Perkins Avenue property. Dispatchers sent police and paramedics to the grandstands area at the southern-most part of the facility, which is reached only by a mud-and-gravel road stretching through darkness.

At about 12:30 a.m., two police cruisers and an ambulance were parked near three RVs at the scene. After about 30 minutes, officers had loaded four people into cruisers.

Police said the four, including one woman, were taken into custody for questioning or for witness statements.

Two paramedics helped one woman walk to the ambulance, which left the scene at about 1 a.m.

Officers said the incident remains under investigation and they could provide no further details.

I can only imagine who hangs out back there!
