A Genoa man allegedly fired a handgun inside his 23000 block W. Centerfield Drive home Saturday, Ottawa County deputies said.

He was not charged, and was taken to the hospital since Ottawa County dispatchers were told the man was suicidal.

Callers said the man quickly left the scene in his pickup truck briefly after he fired the shot, an Ottawa County deputy's report said.

Deputies later found the man at his father's house on the 2200 block Manor Drive. He was found unarmed and sleeping with several empty beer cans on the ground next to him, the report said.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment, the report said.
