Killer: lethal injection would be harmful

Attorneys for a condemned Ohio killer scheduled to die next month said multiple health problems put him at risk for harm during lethal injection.

The attorneys said Arthur Tyler has a history of heart problems and diabetes and risk factors including hypertension, breathing difficulties and being overweight.

A federal court filing Monday in Columbus said Tyler also could suffer adverse reactions from medication he has taken, including blood pressure drugs. Tyler argued lethal injection drugs would amount to cruel and unusual punishment.

The drugs are the only execution method under Ohio law.

Tyler was sentenced to die for killing Cleveland produce vendor Sander Leach during a 1983 robbery.

lethal injection drugs would amount to cruel and unusual punishment. SO!!

what choice did the victim have?

sandtown07

So them doing a lethal injection would be harmful to you. BUT killing someone wasn't harmful to the family?

Bring back the Gas Chamber!
Carbon Monoxide is a cheap, safe and effective method.
Hundreds of cowards voluntarily choose this method daily by putting a hose from the exhaust pipe into the passenger compartment of their car.

Cry me a river. All you're going to do is fall asleep.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA hope it hurts really bad!!!

Sounds like it time to plug "old sparky" back in

sandtown07

What about that awesome heroin/fentanyl cocktail that is all the rage?

jager5

So, lets take him off all his medication that we the taxpayers are paying for anyhow a month before hand, and maybe mother nature will take care of it before he can be punished for taking someone elses life!

People believe that killing the convicted will satisfy their need for vengeance. In the end, the criminal becomes the victim and they end up being the inhumane murderer.

whatever

I mostly agree with ThinkAgain, but am surprised at his/her comment, since scripture verses are usually a part of every post he/she makes.

Doesn't the Bible say "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth"? What Would Jesus Think, if he read thinkagain's post? Luckily, the Register isn't printed in Aramaic, so he's probably safe from a stray lightning bolt. Oh, wait....Jesus wouldn't do that. That would only come from the genocidal God of the Old Testament.

If you want answers “CoasterFan”…start paying attention during my Bible classes.

You’ll have all your scriptural questions answered concerning abortion, guns, liberals, homosexuality and the death penalty.

Meanwhile, ya might want to hold off on interpreting the Bible…it ain’t your forte.

so, thinkagain, you are using this format to preach your values/beliefs to others who think differently? please limit your answer to yes or no. thank you.

As it says in Numbers "Moreover you shall take no ransom for the life of a murderer who is guilty of death, but he shall surely be put to death."
Numbers 35:31
How are you to argue with the laws of God?
Genesis 19:24
"Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the Lord out of heaven."
God seems to believe in Capital punishment for Homosexuality and immorality. We as a republic have a little bit better record for being lenient.

thinkagain was so high, he forgot to tell about his anti drug rants..

nosey rosey

If that's what you want to call me, I'm fine with that. I don't think it;s to satisfy anyone's need for vengeance. It's to eradicate the race of scum criminals.

SamAdams

If the guy has medical problems, there's a good chance that he'd need surgery someday. Would the authorities deny him needed medical care? This isn't a bit different. Put him to sleep. I promise he won't feel a thing for the rest of it, what little "rest of it" remains! It's better than he deserves, but it's the least WE can do!

Darwin's choice

Firing squad! I'll volunteer to be the first "inhumane murderer".

Everyone who agrees with leniency for this scum, are the problem. Maybe if people knew that killing someone is going to cause great pain and suffering for themselves would be a deterrent. The courts are simply not doing their jobs.

SamAdams

The death penalty is not now, and has never been, a deterrent. Nosey Rosey had it right when she said the purpose of the death penalty is to rid humanity of those whose crimes are so heinous, and who represent such a threat, that they can never be any part of society again. And that includes any part of a prison society.

danbury dad

I am not a supporter of the death penalty but I do not find fault in those who support it. That being said it is the law. I do believe that society has the right to set laws and that when some laws are broken that person has given up all rights granted to said person. It is ok to try and change a law if you feel it is unjust but it is not ok to give a murderer rights he has given up by their own actions. To say this person s medical problems should grant him more rights is simply ridiculas.

bondgirlM

what I find funny, the lethal injection would be harmful??? DUH it's LETHAL. I pretty much think it's gonna kill ya...that's harmful alright!
