A special prosecutor looking into the case said he decided there was no reason to bring charges against Joe Deters, who’s now the prosecutor in Hamilton County.

The investigation started after Deters’ estranged wife alleged he was voting in suburban Cincinnati after he moved out of their home.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reported the state’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation concluded last month Deters didn’t violate any laws before handing the case over to the special prosecutor.

Deters was Ohio’s treasurer just over a decade ago.
