Large fire sweeps through Ohio village downtown

A large fire has swept through a historic downtown block in the northeastern Ohio village of Garrettsville.

WKYC-TV in Cleveland reported as many as 15 fire departments from Geauga and Portage counties responded to the scene.

A dispatcher with the Garrettsville fire department confirmed firefighters were on the scene, but had no details to release.

The Akron Beacon Journal reported Garrettsville Mayor Rick Patrick said he believes several businesses have been lost in the fire.

There were no immediate reports of any injuries, according to media outlets..

Garrettsville, which turns 150 this year, has about 2,200 people.
