Luis Lopez, 27, pleaded guilty last week to involuntary manslaughter, endangering children and domestic violence.

As part of a plea agreement, prosecutors in Elyria, west of Cleveland, dropped murder and felonious assault charges. The (Lorain) Morning Journal reported Lopez was sentenced Wednesday.

Prosecutors agreed to the reduced charges after an investigation showed Aaviana Payne likely died after Lopez accidentally dropped her on the stairs and she hit her head. They said Lopez didn’t seek medical attention for the girl, which led to her death.

There you go, ditto. You drop a 2 year old down a flight of stairs, oh! no need to get help! What an idiot! Then you get less time than armed robbery? I swear to God! I live in a world I don't understand.

The explanation is society and the justice system in particular do not value some lives as much as other lives and powerful or influential persons' or institutions' property. It's a very tragic fact.
