Boehner rips health law in visit to Ohio district

U.S. House Speaker John Boehner was back in his home district in southwest Ohio on Thursday and back on the attack against President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul.

Boehner said changes made to health care coverage have complicated business plans for employers.

“All it does is create more uncertainty for people trying to create jobs” Boehner said. “This is big government getting in the way”

Boehner said if Republicans were in control in Washington, “there’d be an effort to undo it and fix health care in a different way”

Boehner toured a wire products company in West Chester, in the aftermath of congressional action this week to lift the federaldebt ceiling that triggered criticism of Boehner from some conservatives.

Boehner said the debt ceiling passage was needed, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

“We had to pay our bills” Boehner said. “The problem isn’t the debt ceiling; it’s the debt”

The problem isn't the debt ceiling, it's giving everything to the wealthy while pushing more and more tax burden onto the working class while they twist in the wind.

Re: "giving everything to the wealthy,"

Better contact Ms. Yellen at the Fed and voice your complaint.

"Central bankers are driving the car from the back seat based upon a fundamentally flawed theory of how the world works. That theory helped produce the wreck that was the Great Recession and will have its fingerprints all over the next one."

Agree with Licorice. America had no trouble paying its bills before Bush cut taxes and increased spending, via 2 unfunded wars.

Re: "Bush cut taxes,"

98% of 'em became the "Obama tax cuts" in 2013.

Re: "no trouble paying"?

lol.

The U.S. hasn't decreased it’s federal debt since Eisenhower.

Re: " America had no trouble paying its bills before Bush cut taxes"

Obama kept the bush tax cuts for 2 years when he had a supermajority in the Senate, and a majority in the House when he could have made the tax rates anything he wanted. Then he extended the bush tax rates for 2 years after they had run out since there was a time limit on the bush tax cuts. Obama extended them for 2 more years, for a total of 4 years after taking office. If they were so bad, why did he keep them and then extend them after they ran out? Then after all that he only changed the tax rates for 2% of the tax payers. (* % of the people are paying the same rate as under bush.

Licorice says: "The problem isn't the debt ceiling, it's giving everything to the wealthy"

I do agree the problem might be giving to the wealthy and the wealthy are doing very well under Obama they are even widening the gap between them and the poor

JMOP

The problem isn't the debt ceiling, it's giving everything to the people who refuse to work, and not contribute to paying taxes like the wealthy and middle class do.

JMOP, nope. The costs of two unfunded wars is exponentially higher than the tax revenues missed by the very small portion of Americans who refuse to work. Is this more of the Fox "New Math"?

Can you name a U.S. war that was 'funded'?

The Big Dog's back

I proved to you before the Viet Nam war was funded.

ROFLMAO!!!!

1. Vietnam: Let's see you defend that 'honorable' war.

2. Yea, "funded" by stealing the Soc. Security trust fund, right dimwit?

cfan says: "The costs of two unfunded wars is exponentially higher than the tax revenues missed by the very small portion of Americans who refuse to work. Is this more of the Fox "New Math"?

cfan you are correct as the tax revenues missed would be not really noticed as 47% of the lower income persons do not pay income taxes even if they are working however the money spent to support the slackers would add up to a noticeable amount. Persons that refuse to work are receiving money they do not earn while I earn money that I do not receive, maybe I might be better to quit work and then someone else could earn the money that I could receive.

And how much of that debt is due to 2 wars and an unfunded drug benefit that doesn't even allow for bargaining for lower prices.....all begun during President Bush's 2 terms in office.

All that debt didn't concern you then...why now ?

Boehner: We've got a problem!
Many People: Yeah!
Boehner: It's causing a lot of trouble!
Fair Amount of People: Yup, it is.
Boehner: We've got to do something about it!
Some People: Mmhmm, like what?
Boehner: If we don't act now we'll be dragged under!
Few People: Sooo...what? What's going on? We agree, get to the solution.
Boehner: Help me and other senior Republicans stay in power so we can continue to fight against this law.
Me: Nope.

Yep!

What's next; corps. whose names that begin with the letters M through Z have until 9:28 AM, April 22, 2015 to comply with the employer mandate?

Who can make any future business plans in this kind of insane environment?

The U.S. was created as being under the 'rule of law,' NOT under the 'rule of men.'

If you can't see that this last employer mandate change was pure politics; then you're either ignorant or a sycophant.

So was the 18th Amend. dimwit. :)

Wherein the "law," does it state that the timing and scope of mandates, et. al can be altered arbitrarily by the Executive branch without Congressional approval?

Donegan

I agree with you on this one Dog. It is the law and as president Obama has no legal standing to alter the law 29 times. His job is to enforce it, Not put off the stuff that will further destroy the US till after a election so he can stay in power. Why do you support the same guy who is postponing "The LAW"? Oh i know, Its because he is your god and you have no understanding of how government works.

The Big Dog's back

How many Repubs are trying to block it?

Immigration is law too, dog! How about those millions of potential voters for your party follow the "law" there?????????

To be a Republican today is to be angry about everything, but have no ideas as to how to fix the problems your own party caused. A "throw the bums out" strategy is not a strategy, and ignores the obvious fact that at least half the "bums" are the people you voted into office. The new party wunderkinds are even more nutty, unqualified and dangerous than the last bunch.

I read yesterday that the average Fox News viewer is 78 years old. I suggest we Dems just let the cranky dinosaurs die off, and not pay them any attention. They are irrelevant, and a shrinking minority viewpoint.

Re: "have no ideas as to how to fix the problems your own party caused."

So other than more government borrowing, printing, taxing and spending while going deeper into debt, what "ideas" do the progressive-socialist Dems offer?

Some have written that we are in a "debt supercycle"

"In our previous book, Endgame, we explore the idea of a Debt Supercycle, the culmination of decades of borrowing that finally ends in a dramatic bust. Unfortunately, much of the developed world is at the end of a 60-year-long Debt Supercycle."

Weird how now as the end game is here the left focuses on killing off citizens much more. Coaster here wants grandpa to hurry up and die for a political agenda and Dog wants to drone others without a trial all the while screaming their opposition wants to push grandma off a cliff. It reminds people what the killers on the left actually hope for, Namely a decreased population with a proletariat that can tell them when to eat, sleep and slave away while they stand in bread lines or starve.
As i have said in the past N Korea is just what you folks want, Try a long vacation there sometime.
