The Ohio Attorney General’s Office earlier this week filed a motion with the state oil and gas commission asking for dismissal of the appeal of a drilling permit for the injection well in Troy Township, southeast of Athens.

The Athens Messenger reported the appeal was filed with the commission earlier this month by the Athens County Fracking Action Network. The group claims the well won’t adequately protect groundwater.
