Former Youngstown Mayor Jay Williams appeared before the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works last week.
He’s been nominated by President Barack Obama to lead the Economic Development Administration.
According to The (Youngstown) Vindicator, committee members have until Jan. 4 to submit follow-up questions. That means any confirmation vote won’t come until early next year.
Williams served six years as mayor of Youngstown. He resigned in 2011 to lead the government’s Office of Recovery for Auto Communities and Workers.
