Sgt. Rich Weiner said the man, Kenneth Ray Herring, 50, was a suspect in a shooting involving a woman on Wednesday night. She was shot twice and hospitalized in critical condition.
Weiner said five officers confronted the man at about 12:08 a.m. as he stood on the porch of a house. They were trying to arrest him when all fired shots. No officers were hurt.
They said the man had a gun, which was recovered at the scene. Other details weren’t disclosed.
Four people inside the residence were interviewed and later released.
The investigation continues.
