Couple killed in motorcycle-vs.-SUV crash

Authorities said a couple was killed when their Harley-Davidson motorcycle rode into the path of an SUV in northeast Ohio.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash happened at about 5:45 p.m. Sunday in Grafton Township, southwest of Cleveland.

The patrol said Robert Willis was riding the bike south on Grafton Road when he rode left of center in a curve and crashed into a northbound Chevrolet Equinox.

His wife, Jolene Willis, was riding on the back and also was killed. Both were 37.

The patrol said it wasn’t immediately known if they were wearing helmets.

The driver of the SUV, Debra Harris, 59, and two of her children in the vehicle suffered minor injuries. The cause of the crash was being investigated.

The couple were wearing helmets when the crash occurred, police said. Willis was a Marine who was planning to retire soon.
