The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a wrong-way crash that occurred Saturday on Ohio 2 near U.S. 250 in Perkins Township.

Mary Fox, 81, of Sandusky, made a U-turn from a highway ramp and continued traveling eastbound on the westbound side until her Honda Accord smashed head-on into a Chevrolet Equinox driven by Jaqueline Zupka, 60, of Macedonia, Ohio, troopers said.

According to the patrol, both drivers were transported by ambulance to Firelands Regional Medical Center. Zupka was treated for minor injuries, and Fox was being treated for incapacitating injuries. Troopers said alcohol is not a factor in the crash, and both drivers were wearing seat belts.

The westbound lanes of Ohio 2 were closed for approximately one hour Saturday while crews responded to the scene.
