Lake Erie has already made one dramatic comeback. But can it do it again?
Lake Erie scientists at Stone Laboratory have compiled a list of the lake's seven biggest problems, including sediment and harmful algal blooms.
The problems are discussed in the cover article of "Twineline," published by the Ohio Sea Grant, which operates Stone Laboratory on Gibralter Island, near Put-in-Bay.
Lake Erie's water quality is deteriorating, but it has overcome such problems before, said Dr. Jeffrey Reutter Ohio Sea Grant's director.
