Yes i do and the community!  All parties involved came to an agreement that they believe that they can live with!  If you wanna see the evidence so darn bad, why don't you head on downtown and protest on the court house lawn and and tell the families invovled and the courts ruling that they are wrong because you have rights!!  Instead of protesting here, go exersice your right and see how far you get!  We have 3 more murder cases coming up! Maybe you can make your way down to the courtroom and sit in and see and hear what you want, but i dought that would satisfy ya!

"I am sorry, but you can not just pick and choose which documents to seal at your whim."

No truer words were ever spoken. Those words should be inscribed on a plaque with one going on the front of the Erie County courthouse and the other on the door of the prosecutor's office.

Super Judge

This video says a lot and creates even more questions that we as the public deserve to have answered. The only way this will ever be put to rest is for all of the videos and recordings to be released to the public, if not there will forever be a cloud of mystery hanging over this event.

PaulYall

I would like to see a qualified lawyer to come on here and answer some question the the public is asking. I know i'm not qualified by any means!  I don't think the whole case file is sealed, just the horrific video's staging the events of that night!  You may be able to request depositions!  The way i see it, it's over and justice was served!  But like i said, maybe the SR can get a "qualified analyst" to give us all some leagal insite as to why the records were requested to be sealed by the defense!

Paul, if that is what you think, you need to REALLY get a clue.  I don't need to see a guy being killed but a simple question deserves an answer, IMO.  I don't think the system works like you think it does.  Do you really think the Randlemans were approached about the evidence?  I thought it was the victim's family that was given that type of consideration. Do you think the Randlemans will be in danger if the video is released or is better to take Dunn's family into consideration on the impact of releasing the tape?  I just want to know why Randleman reacted the way he did.  He really is not the maniac he has been portrayed to be.  I don not think Andy did anything wrong but obviously things went terribly wrong.  I have read on these sites that Dunn was walking to his car and Randleman just started shooting.  I just have a hard time believing it went down like that but if it did why plead the guy out?  A diminished mental capacity does not explain that.

double post

PaulYall

@ Deertracker-- "  He really is not the maniac he has been portrayed to be  ".--- Did you accually just type that???   I can't believe you just said that!  YOU REALLY HAVE SOME SERIOUS ISSUES!

PaulYall

Make sure you add "IT" too your Christmas card list this year!!

Super Judge

THIS JUST IN! The videos will be released, they just need time for the appeals process to take place. We will see them in about a month or so!

PaulYall

Well that should please the curious on lookers and rubber necking thrill seekers!

ritt

Agreed PaulYall ~ And thanks SR for being a part of that "we the people deserve to see the videos".  Makes me sick.  Redefines "Monday morning quarterbacking".

deertracker

I don't send Christmas cards.   I thought he gave up all rights to the appeals process.

ritt

For those videos to be released is just WRONG!  One more piece of proof that most of society is a bunch of selfish, ignorant, voyeurs!  I really don't understand everyone's need (and demand) to see them?  Randleman is guilty by his own admission and has been sentenced!!  "Oh but we the public have the right.........." ~ yeah.  Nice.

Super Judge

he has thirty days to change his mind about pleading guilty.

PaulYall

The defense has 30 days to file an appeal of the sentencing!  Not the guilty plea!  He was charged and admitted guilt and found to be guiilty, once you admitt guilt, you give up all rights to an appeal in the case.  Now the sentencing decission carry's an automatic law requiring a 30 day appeal right.  I did ask about that!

ritt

You know what's sad ~ Randleman gets 30 days to appeal his sentence.............Andrew Dunn and his family get NO DAYS to appeal theirs.

I

The Judge should have told Randleman to SHUT THE HELL UP! Grow some Tone!

deertracker

It's a tragic situation that has been resolved, prosecuted and closed!  LET IT GO!

ritt

We live in the United States where people have the right to their opinion......(ie that first amendment thing you speak of).....last I checked anyway.

As  for your comment "let it go" and "its over ~ move on".....yet you continue to interject a million questions of your own?  Questions that only feed the fury?  And then say "let it go"?     I agree with Paul, you wil never be happy with any responses to anything, and doubtedly will ever be part of any solutions.  While you are so quick to note all of your unanswered questions, this case has played out in a court of law where the court system has a responsiblity to enforce the law ~ it is not their responsiblity however to appease you and your "curiosities".

Freedom of Information or not, it's appalling that anyone or agency would request to have those videos released to the public. Exactly how low will society stoop to satisfy their morbid curiosity? That's sort of like being glorified ambulance chaser, isn't it?

I could care less about the safety of Randleman's family and those that enabled him; I'm more concerned about Andy's children running across this stuff one day before they are old enough to handle it, if that day should ever come. I don't think anyone ever gets over a tragedy like this, they only move on with their lives because that's all that's left to do, the scars remain forever. The adult members of his family wanted this ordeal to be over, not the gory details of Andy's death shared to outsiders through the video evidence. Not even to mention the community civility these were sealed to maintain, could also be a lost cause if they are unsealed. I'm glad I live on the out-skirts.

ritt

Nicely said Sal.

People stoop so low so that they themselves look a bit taller.

PaulYall

Right on Sal!  Best post yet!

Do you want a race war in Sandusky? Don't show those videos, please SR. Be responsible.
