Public library heads ‘Downton’ Jan. 25

A “Downton Abbey” tea party — for adults — is sure to attract fans of the hit PBS series in Norwalk next month.

Friends of the Norwalk Public Library are hosting the tea party from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 25, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 87 W. Main St.

The tea party will feature speakers Cathy Kamenca, program director at WGTETV, and Medina resident Laura Lowe, oflostinthepast.  com  .

The presentations will be about British life and customs from 1912 to 1920, focused on the lifestyles of aristocrats who would have lived on estates like the fictional Downton Abbey.

Guests may wear attire related to the period. Prizes will be awarded to best female costume and hat and best male costume.

Reservations are required and must be made by Jan. 22. It costs $20 per person.
