“Most of my customers I found were from Sandusky, Port Clinton and Vermilion” said owner Maurizio Buttinelli, explaining the reason for the move.
The new Sandusky restaurant should be open by the middle of January, Buttinelli said.
Renovations are still ongoing, and final inspections have to be completed, he said.
Amarone’s in Sandusky will be open for both lunch and dinner, a departure from the Huron location, where dinner hours were limited.
There will be a full bar.
When fully running, the kitchen will offer the full dinner menu already established as a success in Huron but will add appetizer offerings.
Buttinelli is currently fine- tuning the lunch menu to keep most items under $10.
“We have authentic Italian food. Everything is made from scratch” Buttinelli said.
It is, after all, in his blood. Buttinelli was born in Rome and opened two restaurants in Canada before moving to the United States in the late ’90s.
