Rock & Roll Express gets a beat on Sandusky

A new entertainment company in town touts itself as much more than just a DJ service — it’s a one-stop solution for entertainment needs.

“There is nothing the client has to worry about,” said Jeff Goretzki, who opened Rock & Roll Express about two weeks ago, at 2419 E. Perkins Ave. “We tell them, ‘Just get there.’”

The folks at Rock & Roll Express consider themselves entertainment directors, always on hand for their clients’ many needs.

The company offers DJ services, photo booths and ambient lighting displays to create amazing events, whether it’s fundraisers, school activities or weddings. The latter makes up about 95 percent of Rock & Roll Express’ business.

“We are creating memories,” Goretzki said. “Our only option is ‘spectacular.’”

With television bridal shows raising expectations for unforgettable weddings these days, the demand for excellence is high, Goretzki said.

Brides-to-be often approach Rock & Roll Express after seeing a friend’s wedding.

“It has to be better than what she saw at her friend’s wedding,” Goretzki said.

Goretzki said he uses high-end equipment for sound.

“Our sound has never failed,” he said.

The company’s services can be purchased as a package, with four to five employees handling every aspect of an event, or customers can choose individual offerings.

“Say someone already has a DJ — we can come in and do the lighting,” Goretzki said.

Event lighting is an inexpensive way to add elegance. It has become increasingly popular in recent years, especially at weddings.

Goretzki is working on one last piece of his puzzle: hiring a professional wedding photographer by this spring.

“We can take that step out of the bride’s responsibility,” he said.

Goretzki first started as a DJ 26 years ago while living in the Cleveland area. He grew his business by building a reputation with every client.

It was a long process, and now he finally has his own storefront.

“I love what we do,” he said. “We are at a party every weekend for nine months out of the year.”

asweetnessabove, I agree. Jeff is what I consider good old fashioned service. The kind that cares about his clients and really gets to know them. Congrats Jeff on the next step!
