The reward for information in the George Martin murder case has been doubled. Officials are now offering $10,000 to anyone who can provide information that leads to an arrest. The body of George Martin, 86, was found in his Campbell Street home Dec. 3, riddled with stab wounds. Martin’s killer, or killers, torched the house to cover their crime, Sandusky police said.

Good 2 B Me

I thought that SPD had suspects that they were eyeing. Why are they not releasing enough information to allow the public to try and help?

Probably because there just isn't enough information, the information may not be factual because they haven't been able to prove any of it. If ludicrous information is released, this investigation will go from difficult to impossible for obvious reasons. I'm sure as time passes they will release information as they deem necessary. Very limited people know anything. The last I knew, a suspect was in the Erie County jail, but haven't checked recently.

The family has been working slowly on the house, however it is still very difficult for them!

I imagine it's pure torture every time they step foot in that home. They have to flash back to that night instantly. Such a sad ordeal.

Not bashing the SPD but this case is only going to be solved if someone knows info and is willing to talk. It appears and has appeared there is not much useful evidence linking this crime to a specific person or persons. No witnesses, no prints, no usable DNA, aka no leads. It sounds like this case is dead and will only be revived by testimony pointing the finger in the right direction. I hope that with the increased reward it will entice someone to talk, this family deserves closure and our community deserves to have the person responsible , taken off of the street. Somewhere someone knows the answers the police need to solve this horrific crime, and I pray that this person pays for the pain the brought to this family and community.
