Looking for a crash course in local history? The Castalia Area Historical Society Museum is officially open today, displaying an array of artifacts and trinkets from area communities. This is its first year of consistent operation.

The museum is open 2-4 p.m. the first Saturday of each month. It is located at 208 Lowell St., Castalia, in the old Castalia Library building across from Margaretta High School.

Among the communities featured: Bayview, Castalia, Margaretta Township, Vickery, White’s Landing and more. A dedicated group of local individuals created the museum in an effort to promote Castalia area history.
