Molly Carver has been named the new executive director of Sandusky Library, with a tentative start date of Jan. 1.

Carver will replace the Sandusky Library's longtime leader, CEO Julie Brooks, who announced earlier this year that she will retire late this year.

The Sandusky Library board voted unanimously Tuesday night to hire Carver, and Carver gave her own board the news on Wednesday night.

Congrats Molly

Another Sandusky native comes home to work! Great!

Congratulations Molly. Way to go. We have you back in Sandusky at the library once again.

Congratulations Molly Carver!

Her "own board" is the Bellevue Library Board. She told them Wednesday that she would be leaving.

Hopefully she's not afraid of the cold like the last one, she would shut the library down whenever she saw her breath in the air.

The Sandusky Library has been well-managed under Brooks. That it's too often closed is a frequent criticism. A library should not close for every possible excuse. In particular, it should be open when schools are closed, whenever possible, so that students can make us of it. Keeping a mob of kids in line is no small challenge, but certainly worth the trouble in the long haul.

Congratulations Molly!!!

Congrats to Molly Carver!

Excellent choice! Congrats Molly! Sandusky is so fortunate to have as the new director. Your mom would be so proud!
