Got a new smartphone, tablet or e-book reader for Christmas?

You can use it to download ebooks and audiobooks offered by Sandusky Library.

The library’s “Free Library eBooks for Your Tablet” class will be offered at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, then at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 11 and 2:30 p.m. Jan. 15.

Registration isn’t required — just show up, said Julie Brooks, director of Sandusky Library.

If the class times aren’t convenient, personal tutoring sessions are available. “That’s going on pretty much every day,” Brooks said. “Many times people bring in their devices not even taken out of the gift boxes yet” And if you have a new tablet or smartphone, don’t forget to download the CLEVNET app and Overdrive Media app for accessing library materials from your device.

Ida Rupp Library in Port Clinton also is offering a class on how to download e-books from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the library, 310 Madison St. The library would like to have an idea of how many people are showing up, so please call 419-732-3212 to register.

The class will tell library patrons everything they need to know.

“We show people how to get onto on our website, how to download Overdrive if they don’t already have, and how to use Overdrive and the library catalog to download free e-books from the library collection” said Sue Estep, the library’s technical coordinator.

Overdrive provides the software that allows library patrons to download both e-books and audiobooks to their tablets and smartphones. They offer both Android and Apple apps.

If you can’t make it to the class, don’t worry, Estep said.

“We offer one-on-one sessions” she said.

Seriously people need a class for this?

Blowfish

When do classes start for using anonymous proxies, deep web, and torrents?

Stop It

Those are free online courses, Blowfish.

Try google. I've been hearing lately that will find your back-end if you can't find it with a spotlight,a few mirrors and two free hands.
