Erie County deputies are investigating an alleged sex offense against a five-year-old girl.

On Wednesday, deputies learned that the alleged acts occurred about one year ago — but the child only came forward with details recently, Erie County Chief Deputy Jared Oliver said.

The child had confided that an adult man touched her inappropriately, Oliver said.

The girl has already disclosed some information to a counselor, and is set to be interviewed by social workers in the near future.

The girl currently lives on Bardwell Road in Margaretta Township, but deputies are working with Castalia Police to determine where she lived last year, when the alleged acts happened.

The case is under investigation, and no charges have been filed.

The Suspect must be white. If he was Black, they would have already arrested him and had his picture on the front page!

Spanish.....pretty big chip on your shoulder. You lose some credibility starting out that way. Your comment only makes a divide larger and promotes racism. You have issues that you need to see someone about. I am part Cherokee and am OK with Chief Wahoo.
