Woman claims sexual assault

She declined pursuing charges; police unable to investigate
Aug 4, 2014

An unknown person called police early Saturday morning after encountering a woman in downtown Sandusky who claimed someone sexually assaulted her.

At about 1:44 a.m., a group of several individuals found the woman by a home near Central Avenue and Jefferson Street, according to a Sandusky police report.

Police called Sandusky firefighters, who transported the woman in an ambulance to Firelands Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The woman declined pursuing charges and would not provide any information, Sandusky policeĀ Sgt. Tracey Susana said Saturday afternoon.

Because of the lack of information, Sandusky police cannot launch an investigation into the alleged incident.

How sad is that.
Assaulted physically as well as mentally and emotionally ~ because the physical automatically brings the other 2 ~ and she isn't cooperating. The plain truth ~ if you knew the assaulter, even though you didn't turn the *%expletive@! in or didn't press charges does not mean it won't happen again. It doesn't mean tomorrow will be better. Things will not change if you try harder, work harder, or treat the *%expletive@! better. RUN! Run now, talk to the police and get the help you need and the proper paperwork in order. That is the only way you are going to see things change in a forward and hopefully successful/healthy and safer manner. Yes its "only a piece of paper" but its a step in the right direction and better than nothing at all.

If you didn't know the assaulter, be part of the reason he doesn't get the opportunity to do it to someone else!

She may know her assaulter and is afraid of the repercussion. Restraining orders are a joke. She may think she is safer to keep her mouth shut. Very sad.

To the victim, thanks for wasting the time of the police and fire department.
