Two injury crashes occurred in Ottawa County Tuesday.

Mary Slauterbeck and David Atkinson were both taken to the hospital after their cars collided around 11 a.m. in Portage Township, Ottawa County deputies said.

Slauterbeck, 53, of Marblehead, was pulling out of Lightner Road when she collided with an oncoming vehicle traveling at about 55 mph, deputies said.

Slauterbeck's Pontiac Montana got "t-boned" by a Honda Civic driven by David Atkinson of Marion.

She was cited for failure to yield at an intersection. Both drivers were taken to Magruder Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

East Harbor Road near Lightner Road was closed for about two hours after the collision.

In a separate crash on the same day, a similar collision took place in Salem Township on Ohio 19 near Township Road 18.

Sharon Park, 66, of Oak Harbor pulled out of a stop sign and struck Steven Hesler of Marion, driver of a Honda Element.

Park was driving a Buick Lucerne. Both drivers were taken to ProMedica Memorial Hospital by Mid County EMS for non-life-threatening injuries.

Neither driver was cited.

Information on the crashes was not available until Thursday.
