"He started going crazy. He just blew up. He just blew up. He lost it,” a witness told police immediately after Denzel Castile, 19, broke away and stabbed Athena.

Sitting In The ...

My heart goes out to the family.....I listened to this happen live on the scanner and today I could barely go back through and listen to the pleads for assistance from the first officers on scene. They did everything they could

Really? This is funny to you?
What about the mother sitting at home tonight, with empty arms, crying her eyes out, while her daughter is mourned...is that funny to you? I just don't understand....Please stop.

I don't know the young man in question, but here is my take. I am considered a good/nice guy, but if I went out tonight and got drunk and killed a family of four in an accident I would be considered a bad guy. My friends would say I grew up in a nice family, went to church every Sunday, graduated from college with honors, but the people that did not know me would say I am evil/monster. It does not matter what you do 364 days a year if you do a horrible act on day 365. My advice to his friends/family and if this happened to a friend of mine...don't read these forums if it happens to you. You are judged by what you do everyday, not just the days you were a good guy. Actions have consequences, and this young man will have to deal with those consequences. I feel awful for the mother of the little girl.

Everyone on here needs to stop. You all sound crazy. People are being extreme on both sides. I went to school with him. The fact that he was good in the past does not excuse his behavior, and yes he needs to be punished. However, we all know this and he does not need to be hung in the center of town. Nothing excuses his actions. Race, sex, and his past have nothing to do with it. He killed a baby so he will get what he deserves. We all know this and fighting doesn't help. I do not know all the details, but the police saw him do it. Yes he is guitly. Everyone just let it go and let the judge decide. He wil have to pay the price and the family needs to be left alone to grieve the death of the child.

CrissySnow

I am confused. Are you asking people to not comment on the story and "let it go" when a baby is killed in the community? Seriously asking because quite frankly I think that is part of what is wrong with the world. "Let's not talk about it" isn't helpful, in my experience.

Only on the beach

Just curious to all who are shocked that he did this cause they know him and saying that no one on here knows all the facts- I am trying not to judge but what unknown fact would make this OK?

LadyC

I have read through these comments and none of them have said that this was OK, or that he should go unpunished. But making this into a racial or political issue is way off. People are shocked and horrified and trying to make sense out of a terrible violent act. About the same as when the white guy beat a 3 year old to death, a black guy strangled a young woman and her kids, and a white kid opened fire at an elementary school in Connecticut. The common denominator? Anger and hate and lack of self control. It isn't my job to determine this one's punishment, or to judge, but we as a community, as a society, really have something terribly wrong with us. More anger and hatred are not needed. We need to pull together and prevent more of the same from happening. We need to find out WHY.

I agree! Read my comment from 2 pages previous. Instead of all the finger pointing and all the racial commentary , how about WE as a community find out what the hell is going on here before it's too late! Before there isn't a community left to save- I'm including Norwalk in this as well!

your master

was he racist against that baby?

AEversole

Wow.! A baby..... who does that and how does it come to that point... for the comment on Baxter needing to throw the book at these criminals, I don't disagree, but I am aware of more than a few individuals. Serving 25 plus for non violent crimes. He gives the drug dealers life and the child molesters and killers get less time.( adcock kid who stabbed uncle 10 yrs...) I don't understand....... I feel for all the families that are suffering from this tragedy

Denzel is a typical psychopath. Fact is he stabbed this innocent defenseless infant because he wanted to! There is no "snap"defense. I've said before, charge all the adults who were there NOT protecting this infant too.

hope that piece of scum burns in hell!!
