Huron firefighters guide Huron Schools children onto another bus after a driver sideswiped and damaged their bus at about 3:45 p.m. Thursday on Main Street in Huron.

Huron police and firefighters responded and safely transferred the students to another bus. Both vehicles were traveling west near the BP gas station on Main Street.

After the incident, the car, a Pontiac Bonneville, had a flat tire and dents on its driver's side. It shattered a glass folding door on the right side of the bus.

No one was taken to the hospital and it didn't appear anyone was injured during the crash.

Huron police have not yet completed a report regarding the incident and therefore couldn't release any other information Thursday, Ofc. Curt Fleming said.

Is this Paul Hasenmeier again in this picture?

I'm wondering if the kids were about to be dropped off or if they had already been dropped off that the doors were open. That's the only way I can think of for that to have happened. Either way I'm betting that those kids - that don't look like they're very old - were probably scared out of their minds!!

These are the Shawnee kids, K-2nd grade. They were on their way to pick up the Woodlands kids after school before they all were dropped off at home. The doors are open because they were getting off of this bus and onto a new one that wasn't hit by a car.

Don S

Driving and texting ?????? Looks like it !!!

Paul and our new Super???

Now that's a real Super! He'll actually get out of his office to help and make sure the children and bus driver are ok!
Good job Denny!
