Agency offering preparedness training course

The Huron County Emergency Management Agency is sponsoring a disaster preparedness training course for area residents in anticipation of tornado season.

A 20-hour course in personal preparedness, fire and utility safety, triage and first aid, search and rescue, emotional effects of disaster, and terrorism awareness will be taught by local North Coast CERT volunteers.

The course will be Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30-9 p.m. starting April 7 and running through April 23, with a field exercise on May 3 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Classes will be held at Huron County EMA, 255-B, Shady Lane Drive, Norwalk.
