There will be no shortage of things to do at this week's Art Walk.
More than 35 artists, a diverse group of musicians, Lake Erie Adventure Play (LEAP) and a farmer’s market will be featured during the downtown Port Clinton event.
It is scheduled for this Thursday and the fourth Thursday of each month going forward, from 5 - 8 p.m.
The free art celebration features artists, live music and galleries, restaurants and other businesses.
Jewelry, children's art, photography and painting are among the featured art. The Ottawa County Bluegrass Band made such a hit with their fast-picking sounds at June’s Art Walk that they were invited back for this month’s event, titled “Ecogreen Sculptures.” Other music at Thursday’s Art Walk will include JK All Day, Ryan O'Shaughnessy, Josh and Amanda, and Steve Hall.
Kids can create their own adventures with cardboard, fabric and other recycled materials at LEAP’s “pop-up” playground in front of the Ida Rupp Library. The Art Walk also will include a farmer’s market with Brad Schwan.
Art Walk was created last year by the Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council, or GPCAAC, Historic Downtown Port Clinton, art galleries and venues as a means of promoting both art and downtown businesses. Artists who wish to participate in upcoming Art Walks and downtown businesses who would like artists or musicians inside or in front of their venues should contact either Jen Nickel, 419-341-0804 or firstname.lastname@example.org, or Keith Fleming, 419-734-5235.
