Two men, teen arrested on weapons charges

Fremont police arrested two Fremont men and a Toledo 16-year-old following an early morning traffic stop that yielded drugs and a gun.

Officers stopped a 2005 white Chrysler PT Cruiser at 12:15 a.m. Friday at Front and Croghan streets.

The driver — Charles Starks, 23, of the 1200 block of W. State St. — had a marijuana joint behind his right ear, the report said. When police asked everyone to step out of the car, they saw Rayshon Bradford, 30, of the 1200 block of Franklin St., had a 9mm handgun “within his reach,” the report said. Three rounds were in the gun’s magazine.

The 16-year old boy was also a passenger in the car. In searching the vehicle officers found two small bags of marijuana, less than an ounce of crack cocaine, less than a gram of cocaine, Percocet and two ecstasy pills, according to the report. They also found a pocket knife, and some marijuana wrapped in a $20 bill.Starks was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of crack cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of Percocet, possession of ecstasy, carrying a concealed weapon, red light violation and driving under suspension. The teen was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of ecstasy.

Bradford was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, weapons under disability, using a weapon while intoxicated and possession of marijuana.

The men were taken to the Sandusky County jail and the teen was taken to the county’s juvenile detention center.
