The Huron school board plans to meet Thursday evening to tackle lingering issues regarding the suspension and termination proceedings against superintendent Fred Fox.

Fox will be center stage at the meeting.

"We're giving him the opportunity to address the issues that have been spelled out for him," said board president Scott Slocum.

Well now..

What do we have here ?

My guess is that the entire process will be held in executive session and none of the details will make it to the pages of the Sandusky Register.

Shouldn't this have happened before an investigation, Scotty ?

His attorney will advise him to speak in executive session.

So he'll be given the chance to quit, or get drug through the mud.

I don't care who is right or who is wrong.  I can see things that Fred did that was wrong, but I can see other viewpoints too.  However, they (Fred and the school board) needs to solve this Thursday.  Hardly any of the discussion over the past 6 months has been about the students, teachers, custodians, and other administrators who are actually working directly for the student's benefit.  This is a waste of resources and time.

If nothing can be concluded by Thursday's meeting then Fred and the entire school board should be replaced.

For the sake of the taxpayer, this situation needs to be solved pretty soon.  Fox is getting full pay and benefits while being off on suspension and that cannot continue.  If the school board is positive of the evidence, let him go and do not let this guy bargain or bully a lawsuit so he can rip the taxpayer off with a nice  packaged deal when he leaves.

The employers (aka tax payers) would like to know....

a) is this meeting open to the public or is it an executive session ?

b) date, time and location ?

(basic info that shouldn't need to be requested)

Apparently, Fred Fox wants to address the issues that have been discussed many times for months here.

I, for one, think it's about time he had the floor.

I asked this question about FOUR weeks ago.  Why did the board not give him a list of their complaints and then let him answer them in executive session?

NOW they are doing it?   After they have done an investigation, run to the state and inflammed the public, removed him from his job and put him on administrative leave?

This is backward!  Someone on that board, maybe all, either got bad advice from an attorney or just plain didn't take it.  This is what you do FIRST, not last.  So now they HAVE to do it or they would be violating his rights.  They are doing it very publically per his request.  They screwed up, made it public and now the board is going to have to listen to the answers in public.  How awful it will be to have to listen to the answers without a comment.  To have to sit there without defending themselves will be hard.  But that is what they have done to Fox for some time now.

You know, what goes around ,comes around and they will be on the receiving end at that meeting.  What should have stayed in executive session and did not, will now become public rebuttal and they cannot answer.  That won't be easy for some of them.  Especially the ones who have been screaming the loudest .

And the public cannot ask questions.  That won't be easy either.  WOW.  I would not want to be sitting in any board member's shoes at this one.  Not for all the water surrounding Huron.
