A 17-year-old Amherst girl was taken by medical helicopter to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. No one by the girl’s name was at the hospital Sunday, staff said.

Luke Tucker, 25, Celeste Tucker, 59, Hope Tucker, 22, and an infant were taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, said Ohio State Highway Patrol dispatcher Chelsea Raugh.

Those three were seen in the emergency room, but there was no record they were admitted, hospital staff said.

The Amherst teenager, driving a 2009 Hyundai Sonata, failed to stop for the stop sign and struck the 2011 GMC Sierra, Raugh said. The Sonata veered off the road and struck a sign.

The Vermilion Township Fire Department had to cut the teenager out of the Sonata because the door would not open, fire chief Frank Triana said.

The girl was then treated by North Central EMS until the medical transport arrived, Triana said.
