A Marblehead man was seriously injured in a one-car crash Thursday on Ohio 163 in Danbury Township, Ohio State Highway troopers said.

John Walsh, 75, was flown by medical helicopter to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo after his 1999 Chevrolet Blazer drove off the road near milepost 33.

His car drove off the left side of the roadway and down an embankment before it struck a storm drain and four boats parked in a lot. The crash happened shortly before 1 p.m.

Walsh experienced undisclosed incapacitating injuries and was not wearing his seat belt, troopers said.

Troopers were assisted on the scene by the Danbury Township police and fire departments and Ottawa County deputies.

The involved boats were moderately damaged. The crash remains under investigation and alcohol is not believed to be the factor, troopers said.
