Officials have yet to positively identify Brenda Shorty and her 2-year-old daughter Vinesha Darden, who neighbors said were killed in the early morning fire at Shorty’s home at 520 May St.
Fremont firefighters arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames. They spent about an hour putting out the blaze before starting the lengthy process of investigating the two deaths. The Ohio State Fire Marshal’s office is heading up the investigation and is still waiting on the coroner’s report before moving forward with a final report.
“There is nothing new to report at this time” Michael Duchesne said Tuesday. “The investigation is still ongoing, and the cause is undetermined”
