George Dehil, 77, died Sunday night in a fire at his North Worthy Road home in Marblehead, according to Ottawa County coroner Dan Cadigan.

Cadigan provided the identity Tuesday morning.

Danbury Township fire Chief Doug Waugh has said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Firefighters were dispatched to 246 N. Worthy Road at about 6 p.m. Sunday when neighbors called 911 after noticing smoke coming from the home. A neighbor who lives across the street said he arrived home late Sunday to find dozens of firefighters and several fire trucks at the scene. Firefighters remained at the sceen for several hours, and they found Dehil's body inside the home after extinguishing the blaze.

Firefighters called the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s office and informed them of the blaze. A spokesman at the state Fire Marshal’s office said his agency was notified but was not asked to assist in the investigation.
