Fremont police received a call for help at the woman’s Wood Street home just before midnight Friday, when her younger son, Ryan Groot, 29, was drunk and would not calm down, according to a police report.
His mother simply wanted him to leave the house, but he became increasingly loud and aggressive when police arrived, the report said. He backed himself against a wall and assumed a fighting stance while facing officers, refusing to obey their orders or calm down. Police arrested him for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
His brother, Jason Groot, 32, who at first had been trying to help calm his brother down, instead became aggressive and also refused to comply with officers’ orders to stop, according to the report.
He, too, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
The pair remained in jail Monday morning.
