Weisenburger beat out contender T. Douglas Clifford by almost 4,000 votes, according to unofficial results.

“I believe we ran a clean campaign,” said Weisenburger after his victory. “And I’ve had the benefit of being on the bench since May.”

Weisenburger was appointed to his position by Gov. John Kasich earlier this year, so this was the first time his name appeared on the ballot.

As for future plans, Weisenburger said the municipal court is currently in the process of reviewing its policies, with cost effectiveness in mind.

“We’ll be making any changes we feel will better serve the public from an efficiency standpoint,” Weisenburger said.
