Four seats are on the ballot Nov. 5, with three incumbents and two newcomers in the race.

The incumbents: Richard Close, Karen Foster and Connie Ward. The challengers: Rebecca Vaughan and Bill Werner.

All the candidates said the village is working to provide the same amount of services with fewer dollars.

Ward, who works in the agricultural industry, was appointed to council in 2011 and is now council president, while Foster is running for her fourth term. Vaughan is a cook at Edison Schools and she also works at Quarry Hill Winery. Werner retired years ago after owning a grocery.
