Redfern foe political unknown

The race for the 89th House District is a study in contrasts, pitting a veteran Democratic politician against a Republican mounting his first campaign.

Chris Redfern, chairman of the Ohio Democratic Party, hopes to reclaim the Ohio House seat he held from September 1999 to the end of 2008. Redfern was the minority leader for Democrats in the House and served as an Ottawa County commissioner before winning election to the House.
Republican candidate Donald J. Janik, 21, is new to the political scene and says he’s running to take on “career politicians.”

Be sure to pick up a copy of Tuesday's Register to hear why each man is in the race and

Oh yeah, another still-wet-behind-the-ears kid who at the age of 21 is going to take on career politicians. What, didn't his job at McDonald's pan out?

Why can't local Republicans find a candidate to rid us of Redfern?

Does he even live in our district anymore?

Someone should ask him where he will be enrolling his daughter in school. In Port Clinton, the district where he maintains an empty luxury mansion, or at a private school in Columbus where he lives in a different luxury mansion?

Ask him that Tom Jackson. But you won't because the Republicans can't ever find someone to run against this guy and you don't want to lose access because he is going to be rep for another 8 years.

I guess he plans on continuing to be the Democrat party boss as well? Ask him that Tom.

It's like he is a member of the House of Lords and has a hereditary title to the North Coast seat. I can blame him, but I also blame Erie and Ottawa County republicans.

The New World Czar

Here is an article on "district resident" Chris Redfern. Any possibiity that the Register might actually report on this???
