Voters ousted mayors across the region Tuesday night, opting to give new local leadership a try in 2012.
Incumbent mayoral candidates lost at the polls in Kelleys Island village, Norwalk, Put-in-Bay village, Gibsonburg, Port Clinton, Fremont, North Fairfield, and Green Springs.
That leaves only one incumbant mayor, Lowell Etzler in Greenwich, in office.
The results for all area mayoral races are below. An asterisk denotes the incumbent.

Comments
I'll never forget when Mayor Lesch of Norwalk defended the owner of Casa Fiesta after the salmonella (or whatever it was) outbreak, and declared "I ate lunch there today and I'm not sick!" Great sympathy for those who were ill for weeks afterward.
And she did little or nothing to keep Value King grocery store in town either.
Goodbye!
