The Warren County prosecutor said Michael Watson, 39, and Michael Geldrich, 36, are also charged with aggravated robbery, rape, kidnapping and tampering with evidence.

Authorities said Dione Payne, 16, of Dayton was beaten in an attempt to steal drugs and money from him at a home about 15 miles south of Dayton. Police say Payne was left at a Middletown hospital Dec. 1 and later died.

Watson and Geldrich could get life in prison without parole if convicted of aggravated murder.

A third defendant was indicted on a robbery-related charge but isn’t charged in Payne’s death.
