Man threatens mother with rifle

A Fremont man was jailed on an aggravated menacing charge after threatening his mother with a rifle Wednesday.

Sandusky County deputies arrested Joshua Steele, 21, in Bellevue at a friend’s house after his mother called police Wednesday morning, according to a deputy’s report.

The woman told deputies about 20 minutes before she had called, Steele threatened her with a rifle, then left their home in his blue Mustang. Deputies booked him into the Sandusky County jail pending a court hearing.

He remained there Thursday evening.
