Deputies went to the home, in the 9600 block of Harrison Road, to search for Steven Tompkins, a 24-year-old Lehigh Acres resident who disappeared Tuesday after officials discovered two bodies inside his Florida home.

Tompkins is considered a person of interest in the case, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies went to the Harrison Road home at about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday to search for him and ask about his possible whereabouts, Erie County Sheriff Paul Sigsworth said. Tompkins’ aunt lives at the home.

“His aunt said she’s not heard from this guy in years and she doubts he would ever come to her house,” Sigsworth said. “There was no indication that she was hiding anything, but we’re going to check that address periodically”

Tompkins is believed to be driving a 2004 four-door Ford F-150. It’s green and has a Florida license plate of “BFK T59,” Lee County deputies said.

He may be armed with a handgun. Tompkins is 5-foot-5 with a medium build, hazel eyes and short brown hair.

Anyone with information can call Lee County Sheriff’s Office at 239-477-1000.
