At about 9:30 a.m., a woman drove by Sandhill Cemetery at Mason and Skadden roads and noticed the large entrance sign, emblazoned with its name, had been blown over, the report said.

The woman contacted a township trustee to let him know about the damage, but when the trustee checked on it around 2 p.m., it was gone, the report said. The woman checked with area scrap yards but none had reported seeing the sign as of 3 p.m. Monday, the report said.

Deputies said they’ll continue checking scrap yards.

The sign has yet to be recovered.
