Stephen Edwards, 42, was charged with improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, operating a vehicle under the influence and speeding.

Huron officers pulled over Edwards’s vehicle as it exited a Berlin Road gas station and began driving over the speed limit, the report said. Edwards alerted officers to his loaded.38-caliber handgun inside his center console. Officers seized the weapon, but Edwards refused to sign a property forfeiture form, the report said.

Edwards ultimately failed field sobriety tests and refused a breathalyzer test, the report said.

Edwards was released from custody later that night after a friend posted his bond.

Weapons "charges"? I only see one charge relating to a weapon. It must have been a pretty nice gun for them to make him forfeit it before he is convicted. He was driving drunk, did they try to make him forfeit his car too?
