Shane Klauss, 37, 1400 block Campbell St., is now jailed without bond.

The neighbor’s daughter noticed lights on inside her mother’s home Wednesday around 7:30 p.m. and saw Klauss standing in the kitchen, according to a Sandusky police report. With the daughter’s permission, officers entered the home and ordered Klauss to the ground at gunpoint, the report said.

Klauss was allegedly filling up a bag with the homeowner’s clothing and beauty items.

Officers also noted food and condiments spread across the kitchen counter, as if he was preparing some food, the report said.

The resident asked police to charge him accordingly, and officers escorted him to the Erie County jail.
