A Sandusky woman was arrested Thursday morning after she allegedly fled a crash scene.

Chelsa Mundy, 37, of the 500 block of E. Parish St., was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, leaving a crash scene, failure to control a vehicle and driving under suspension.

Sandusky dispatchers received multiple phone calls at about 2 a.m. of a woman walking away from a three-car crash in the 400 block of Tyler St., according to a Sandusky police report.

Officers soon found Mundy walking about a block away, at Lindsley and Hendry streets, so they brought her back to the scene.

Her mangled Plymouth Neon smashed into the back of a Chevy Impala, which in turn struck a Chevy Malibu, the report said.

Officers hauled Mundy to the police station, where a breathalyzer registered her blood-alcohol content at 0.217 percent, the report said. The legal limit for driving in Ohio is 0.08 percent.

Officers gave her several opportunities to contact someone to pick her up, but Mundy kept providing incorrect phone numbers. She was eventually taken to the Erie County jail and released later Thursday.

This woman could have killed someone like the guy did in Bellevue. Put all the drunks away so that they can think about things. If she was out drinking at 2 a.m. on a Thursday night she must not work. Like I said earlier, so tired of these stories.

I agree grandma. That's why I quit drinking 25+ yrs. ago. Haven't regretted it once, especially when I read stories like these.

if they put all the drunks away, we'll have another government shutdown or there'll be no one to get you your hamburger at BK. while I do think that drinking and driving is wrong, I don't think the answer to all our problems (or theirs) is to put everyone in jail. besides there are other worse criminals out there.
