Gregory Armstrong, 31, of the 1300 block of Hayes Ave., turned himself in Tuesday morning on warrants for complicity to attempted murder and complicity to attempted aggravated robbery.

Two others allegedly involved— Morgan Weatherspoon and Stanley Frankart — were picked up last week, while the third, Jaron “David” Ashburn, was arrested Sunday night in Mississippi.

Armstrong, Frankart and Ashburn went to the home of Lee Donald, 34, at about 4 a.m. Sept. 23, with the intention of robbing him, Sandusky police Detective Gary Wichman said.

When they arrived, Frankart allegedly fired one round through the door, striking Donald in the head. The three men fled on foot, but detectives identified them through anonymous tips and phone records, Wichman said.

Weatherspoon’s involvement was limited to the robbery’s planning stages — her Buchanan Street home was used as a staging ground for the crime, Wichman said.

Armstrong remains in the Erie County jail on $50,000 bond.
