Police are investigating a suspicious death that occurred early Wednesday morning in a Fremont home.

Fremont police were called to 140 Morrison St. just before 2 a.m., after they received call about a body found in the home, Fremont police stated in a release.

A person who sometimes lives in the home found the body, Fremont police Chief Tim Wiersma said. Police called detectives, paramedics, the Sandusky County coroner and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation agents to the scene.

The adult victim's identity remains unknown, and police said they could not determine if it was a man or a woman. The body is not decomposed.

Police would not offer details on the suspected cause of death. A neighbor said a man lived in the home, but police would not confirm this.

The Sandusky County coroner has sent the body to the Lucas County coroner's office for an autopsy. Wiersma said results are expected back Thursday.

Neighbors said there were frequently people seen coming and going from the home.

Anyone with information regarding the death is encouraged to call Fremont police at 419-332-6464.

Sounds like they hit a nerve with that comment. I'm sure if we all knew for sure who pulled the trigger why would a investigation be needed. Oh yeah just let it rest no need to see the truth come out

Sheriff doesn't make a ruling of death. Coroner does that.

cockynurse

Not decomposed but they can not determine if it's a man or a woman?? No other details-just a suspicious death? Ooo-k

candleburner

Yeah that's what I'm wondering about! Unless there's so much damage done to it from whoever took their life why can't they tell if it was a man or a woman?

That is what it sounds like, a mutilated body. I wouldn't want to be the person who found the deceased.

Another bath salts thing

This article makes NO sense at all unless the register is just putting together the bits and pieces they know. How can a body not be decomposed and than not be determined man/ woman. Also don't you think it's suspicious that someone who " sometimes" lives in the home reported the body @ 2am??

Yeah the details provided at this point paint a scene that would be worthy of a crime drama. Weird...

Where's Castle when you need him?

It's Pat.

Who's Pat? The deceased? The policeman? The SR reporter? The "sometimes" lived there person? This is very sad. Prayers for the family.

I am sorry. It was an inappropriate reference to an old SNL skit.

it is possible the body was wrapped up and that is why they cant tell fremont paper said it was in one piece and not decomposed, also the police could just be with holding info at this time

grandmasgirl

The news channel's last night also said that the body was not decomposed, but that the gender was not known. I thought that maybe the body was mutilated.
