Deputies arrested Tyler J. Keegan, 26, on Friday at his home on Hayes Avenue on charges of felonious assault, domestic violence and aggravated menacing. He was released on a $50,000 bond, posted by Mayo Bail Bond & Surety, according to the Erie County jail.

Jessica Wieber, 20, met deputies in the parking lot of an area business. There she told them Keegan hit her and held a 12 gauge shotgun to her head as he told her, “I’ll do it, I’ll bury you, I won’t go to prison over you.”

Keegan was allegedly upset when Wieber took money from his paycheck to pay household bills, giving him $50, she told police.

Wieber tried to leave, and Keegan took her cell phone and pushed her to the ground, where he hit her head on the ground and kicked her.

Deputies confiscated the 12 gauge shotgun for evidence as well as removing a 50 cal. firearm, a 20 gauge shotgun and a .308 rifle for safety. Keegan told deputies those weapons belonged to his father.

If that girl has brothers, he might need those guns to defend himself.

Mum-of-One

It would appear that is the wrong picture. Check the jail roster.

Raoul Duke

That guy doesn't look like a Tyler to me.

grandmasgirl

I don't understand why girls even have a first date with guys like this. Is there no indication that they aren't what you want in a partner? If I wasn't married I would sure leave after the first violent episode.

Mum-of-One

There are obvious red flags to avoid in a prospective lover, such as angry, controlling, possessive, jealous, or violent behavior. Unfortunately, most abusers are able to mask these tendencies in dating. By the time many people notice the obvious red flags, they're already attached to an abuser, which makes it much harder for them to leave the relationship. Victims of domestic violence desperately want the abuse to end, and engage in various survival strategies, including calling the police or seeking help from family members, to protect themselves and their children. (Dutton, The Dynamics of Domestic Violence, 1994) Silence may also be a survival strategy in some cases. Moreover, enduring a beating to keep the batterer from attacking the children may be a coping strategy used by a victim, but does not mean that the victim enjoys it.

Well said, Mum.

heaven-leigh

Thank you. Very well said.

Are you saying that it is different if the violence takes place when married? Why is that different?

Eda M. Handly

Grandmasgirl, so if you were married and he was violent, you would stay? That seems logical...

Good 2 B Me

I was thinking the same thing...

grandmasgirl

I must not have gotten my point across. No, I would not stay. But I have never been afraid to defend myself if I had to. I am of the opinion that the man has to sleep sometime. Luckily, I have never been put to the test. What I wanted to know was: why do people get involved or stay with someone. I know that there is fear, I just don't understand. Just like I don't understand your "that seems logical" statement.

Her "credentials" have nothing to do with the fact this low life held a gun to her head and threatened to bury her. That's like saying a rape victim asked for it because she dressed provocatively. Though you don't specifically state this girl asked for anything, you certainly infer it.

Ithink

Nope- just wanted to make sure that people understand that birds of a feather, flock together. That's all.

This is great!! When the girlfriend ends up missing is Mayo Bail Bonds going to be held responsible for any liability other than making sure he shows back up in court? NO!!!! This scum is back out on the streets and he's made the threat that he would do bodily harm to his girlfriend and then bury her body - probably some place where it won't be found. Real nice!! Thank you so much Peggy Mayo for bonding this guy out!!! That was a real service you provided the community here!!! And yeah I know that that's her job, I just think some crimes don't deserve bail depending on the circumstances surrounding them.

Just taking someones money without asking is OK........

TrollingRageind...

These are the kind of "tough guys" that use guns. Using a gun is against someone that doesn't have a gun in their hands is the exact opposite of tough.

The only thing that bothers me is that in as many cases like this , the girlfriend goes back and things get worse
One can only hope she stays clear of him and some how finds that she can make it better for herself and not have to live like that
A real self respecting guy would have never done this , and would have found a better way to vent .

Jail roster says this guy is Jeremy Keegan, not Tyler Keegan. unless a middle name was used as a first name, i think they have the wrong name somewhere.

Krissy3

It's Tyler.
