A Sandusky woman used a bottle of hot sauce to assault the father of her child Monday morning at their McDonough Street home, a Sandusky police report said.

Damita Collins, 33, was charged with felonious assault and domestic violence.

Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of McDonough St. at about 1:30 a.m., where they spotted Shente Laye, 34, bleeding from the face. As paramedics tended to Laye's injuries, police went inside to speak to Collins, whose shirt was covered in "a large amount of blood splatter." Collins, who also smelled of booze, said she didn't know anything about the attack, the report said.

A witness told officers she saw Collins whack Laye in the head with a bottle of hot sauce. And indeed, on a kitchen counter, officers found a bottle of Kurtz Louisiana hot sauce covered in specks of blood. When police talked to Laye again, he said Collins told him to leave, but as he headed for the door she hit him in the head with the bottle, the report said.

For her pat, Collins told police "she was tired of being assaulted by Shente and (she) had to defend herself," the report said.

Collins was taken to the Erie County jail, then released at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

ummm excuse me but you have got to be the most ignorant person I have ever heard talk. Who are you to call that man names. I know this man and he is NO THREAT in anyway to ANYONE. So what he "literally started" at your girlfriend" if she is afraid of someone looking at her she might want to keep her a@@ in the house then, last time we checked this was a free country didn't know you needed permission to look at anyone. As far as you calling him "Bighead" and "Cheeks" he has a disability you a@@hole and you should be ashamed of yourself. He doesn't harm anyone and will so anything to help anyone. How do you know he appears to pry into anything and anywhere are you stalking him?? HMMM sounds like maybe proper channels need to be taken to stop your stalking behavior. You need to learn to choose your words a little more wisely before you get on here and type something like this, He has a lot of family and friends in this town that love and appreciate him who I am sure will not take too kindly to you making accusations just because he scared the "living crap out of your girlfriend just by looking at her".. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!!!!

1. Kurtz hits the spot.
2. Kurtz Sauce is hot-it will give you a knot.

Another hilarious find by the staff at SR, you guys really put in some long hours combing through police logs to find these gems. Imagine if they put this much effort into spell checking, fact finding or searching for actual news item of more worthiness.

Dang! I must have ESP!

How did I know that this story was going to involve a Shanita, Damita, LaQuita, Jamika or Lanita VERSUS a Dante, Shente, Gentre, LaMente or Rhente.

Should it be billybob, marylou, maryjane, billyjane, billyjoe, joe billy maybe.

LMAO..good one Dick Tracey !!!

sandtown born a...

They just wanted things saucey

You didn't know Dick Tracey. It could have been a beth, kelly, sue or jessica versus a hal, george or josh. Keep your stereotypes to yourself.

DT knew because of the street name and location. It's not THAT hard to figure out Sandtown.

If you say DT knew because of the street name that's sterotyping. I told him right. Just because and area is predominantly one race or financial situation doesn't give one the permission to stereotype unless their a bigot.

There's black people that live in Venice Heights and there's white people that live on Hancock street.

White folk don't name their kids, Damita and Shente.

bingo hit nail right on the head

And black folks don't name there's biff, bob or sue. But what Dick Tracey was saying that before he read the story it was going to be about Damita and Shente. This isn't hard.
